Being Nominated for a Shorty Award for Journalism is certainly a highlight and being chosen by USA Today’s 10 Best as their Spa Expert!

What’s the most fun part of your job?
Meeting interesting people on press trips, while discovering the world! Then being able to share this experience with my publications readers, so they too can aspire to explore.
What’s an interesting or exciting experience you got to have as a result of your job?
Visiting the country of my family’s heritage – Germany, and discovering the why to many of my loves; from food to spa experiences.

Spa Travel Gal is getting an upgrade, so please be sure to check it out! Also, my company Wellness Travel Media is quickly becoming the leader in connecting brands with the wellness traveler through innovative programs that help companies tell their unique story and engage and interact with their target consumer in a way that traditional journalism or marketing can’t provide.
Through a variety of different digital programs Wellness Travel Media is a conduit in bringing brands and travelers together. Wellness Travel Media continues to create campaigns for great brands like Swissotel that deliver strong ROI.
What changes and/or trends are you noticing in the market and your work networks?
Wellness Travel Media is focusing on the blurring of journalism and content marketing. This is really the wave of the future and progressive brands are jumping on the bandwagon now to secure relationships with social influencers like the team behind Wellness Travel Media. This new way of promotion ensures strong coverage for the brand, allowing them to get their message out exactly as they want, but without it seeming to be pure marketing or a hard sell. It is also more cost-effective than many traditional marketing, PR and advertising methods.
What organizations/outlets do you think are doing things right in the current market?
When it comes to a Public Relations company, Diamond PR led by Jody Diamond are Rock Stars!
What advice would you give someone starting out in your profession?
Surround yourself with those you admire. Don’t assume anyone is competition. Enjoy following the path together to your next destination.
What inspired you to work in this area?
My mother traveled the globe when I was a child. I saw the excitement in her eyes after trips to Russia and after sleeping in a thatched hut on the Bay of Bengal, it inspired me to see the world.
What are your interests outside of work?
Working as a long time volunteer with my “family” at Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary in Georgia. There I spend time with rescued and abused domestic exotic animals. Here they find their forever home!

What is your top travel tip?
It is well worth the time and effort to get Global Entry!
What is on your bucket list?
Visiting every Ritz Carlton Club Floor and sipping a glass of champagne!
