Are you long time or recent users of Media Kitty ?

We’ve just recently joined and we’re excited to connect with new people.

How can Media Kitty members work with you?

We’re open to featured/sponsored posts on our website thewanderlusty.com and social media accounts, press trips, giveaways and product reviews.

What is involved in your job day to day?

Every day changes with our location but we usually start with a strong black coffee to help us power through a few hours of responding to emails and inquiries, followed by researching and brainstorming. If we’re in a new destination we head out to check out the area and take notes of what we’ve seen and done. Around sun down we head back to compare notes and start writing.

What’s the most fun part of your job?

Travel of course.. but it’s more than just flying on a plane or staying in a hotel. It’s about making new friends in far away places, learning about other cultures, seeing how small the world actually is and gaining invaluable knowledge of who you are and what impact you can make on this earth. There is a truly deep and spiritual enlightenment to travel if you do it the right way.

What is your number one tip for working more efficiently?

Communication, with better communication we could solve many of the worlds problems. It’s all about opening up the right dialogue.

What do you think is going to be biggest change in the way we work within the next 18 months?

With the ever changing social media forefront it will be interesting to see what happens next. We predict a new social outlet to emerge and make headway, snapchat has really blown up recently. We have also seen a decline in traditional marketing methods such as paper products but a larger push in promotional materials. So in the near future we will see more self promo items, less unnecessary print media and much more digital market share growth.

In your work background, how did you progress to your current role?

Working in marketing it was a natural transition into blogging. We always had to help sell a brand or product to consumers but we’ve found it much easier to sell free travel tips and advice when you are truly passionate about it. Blogging feels more rewarding than a large multimedia campaign.

What advice would you give someone starting out in your profession?

Post, post, post….it’s all about writing good content and finding your voice. Be yourself, genuine and make sure you do your research.

What inspired you to work in this area?

Our passion for travel, a love to help others travel better and the never ending urge to live out of a suitcase for eternity.

What is your favourite travel destination?

This is always a hard question for us. We love Las Vegas.. who doesn’t? Los Angeles will always be on the list because it’s our hometown, London is always amazing and our wild card is Helsinki.. We love the Arctic. We really just can’t pick one.

What is your top travel tip?

Learn to pack efficiently, once you learn to harness this discipline you will find that you don’t need as many ’things’ as you thought you did. This principle applies in ever aspect of life. Less is more, well except for travel… Travel more!

What is on your bucket list?

We’re crossing off several from our Travel Bucketlist in December by visiting parts of China, Thailand, Tokyo, Singapore and Bali… but after those get crossed off the next in line are India, Maldives, South Africa, Guadeloupe island, Antarctica, Iceland, Budapest, Armenia, Serbia, Croatia and Australia
